Chiang Mai is one of the province in Thailand that has many temples in the old city at least 100 temples now. It’s the city of culture and religion.   All temples that you see are not the entire temple in Chiang Mai. Pagoda ruins are used to be temple too. Pagoda was encircling with houses, located beside road or in market and many people don’t know it. Even if, it has only ruins, local people still have faith and respect on its. At every pagoda ruins, you will see offering that local people offer for holy thing in pagoda. Local Chiang Mai people have belief in sacred item, they will not sacrilege or destroy all pagoda ruins, although it has only foundation of pagoda. Many pagoda ruins are in the old city Chiang Mai, but some pagodas are outside city. One of pagoda is in the middle of the lake in developed housing.
